After an arduous couple of years, building one of the largest commercial websites in my career, I wanted to show my appreciation to my entire team.
As I passed out gift cards for coffee, a few of my employees seemed perplexed.
“Why are you giving us these?” one asked, “We didn’t work on the project.”
“Yes, I know,” I replied, “but you worked on everything else during this time, allowing the team to focus on getting it done.”
“We couldn’t have done it without it.”
